My opinion of Mettaton tends to be.mixed. I will be impressed if you can dance like Mettaton. In short, between the creepy tones of Here We Are and the synchronized chaos of Amalgam, the True Lab songs certainly cement themselves into your skull as being extremely unsettling, and definitely earned their place on this list. It seems to drive to make itself more random by removing the backbeat completely for a few seconds towards the end, leaving you with nothing but the foreground music dragging itself across all of the scales before bringing the background music back in an equally random fashion. The beat that it builds up during the first half suddenly vanishes, replaced by what can only be described as random and sudden noise, while increasing the tempo further. However, the interesting thing about this battle theme is that it seems to change halfway through the song. It also begins to overlay more techno beats on top of the song, which is constantly picking up tempo throughout the piece, as well as building up in intensity. Right away within the song, it features a more revved up version of the moaning you hear in Here We Are, while adding a gushing wind element to the song, which almost creates a vacuum in what is essentially pure chaos in song form. Toby Fox did a wonderful job creating a rather unnerving battle theme for the Amalgamates. Ahh, Memoyheads, how you haunt my nightmares so.
